This tree’s stump was left in the bush, and by assessing the weathering that remains on the cut, it must have laid there for a good 20 years. It was found far from human activity so how the tree died is a mystery.
It was probably damaged by elephants which is why elephants are carved into the table. Specifically, three elephants to reflect that the carvers, are two of three brothers in a large family that includes five sisters.
